❓ Is it private? Does my PNG get uploaded?

No upload happens. The whole pipeline (decoding, palette reduction, and lossless packing) runs inside your browser tab through WebAssembly. The PNG never reaches a server, so even confidential screenshots or unreleased assets stay on your machine. Server-based compressors hold your file for a while after the job. Here there is nothing to hold.

❓ Does it keep transparency?

Yes. The alpha channel is preserved at every quality setting, so a logo on a transparent background stays transparent. We tested a file with 48,355 semi-transparent pixels and the count came out identical before and after.

❓ Will this compress PNG without losing quality?

The slider decides. Below 100 the tool reduces the image to a smaller color palette of up to 256 colors. That is lossy, though on logos, icons, and screenshots your eye will not catch it. At 100 there is no color reduction and the pixels are only re-packed losslessly, so quality is untouched. Detailed photographs lose more at the lower settings. The preview shows you the damage before you download, so you can stop where it still looks clean.
