Something you can actually hand over
A lender asks for a document. So does a board of directors, and so does the attorney on the other side. A comma-separated dump cannot be signed, cannot be attached to an application and will not be read by anyone outside your own desk. The horizon here is longer than one meeting, too, because the IRS keeps records relevant for three years in the general case, four years for employment tax, six years when income was understated by more than 25 percent and seven years when a bad debt is written off, so the copy you produce this week may well surface much later, on a desk in another office, in front of somebody who has no idea what your spreadsheet looked like.
