USB Drive Encryption Software locks an entire flash drive with AES-256-GCM and leaves a 2.2 MB portable decryptor on the stick. Plug it into another Windows PC, type the password, and read your files without installing anything.
Download the USB Drive Encryption tool and run installer on the Windows machine you control. Installation happens once, on the computer where you protect the drive.
Plug in the flash drive and select it in the list. Type a password, then save the recovery key to your password manager. The recovery key is the way back in when you forget a password.
The program copies your files into an encrypted store on the same stick and marks that store as a hidden system folder. When the run finishes, the drive shows one file, UsbDriveEncryption.exe.
Plug the stick into any Windows PC and run UsbDriveEncryption.exe from the drive itself. The decryptor weighs 2.2 MB. Nothing is installed on that PC. Type the password and your files open.
Microsoft's own list of editions that can turn on BitLocker leaves Home out. The fallback that qualifying Home machines get instead, Device Encryption, covers internal disks only. A flash drive is not on either list, which is why the menu item every guide tells you to look for is missing. Our program does not use BitLocker at all. It runs the same on every edition.
Third-party tools that mount an encrypted volume as a drive letter ship their own kernel driver, and installing a driver takes administrator rights. On locked-down work PC that means asking IT and waiting for the ticket. Our program skips the driver entirely. The decryptor is one 2.2 MB executable that runs from the stick, so a borrowed computer stays exactly as you found it.
The free tier covers 3 encryption runs and 5 chances to open a protected drive. Once the counter is spent, decryption carries on working, and every byte you put on the stick comes back out. Cutting people off from an archive they own would be a strange way to sell a security tool.
USB Drive Encryption Software encrypts with AES-256-GCM and derives the key from your password with Argon2id. GCM is an authenticated mode, so a file that was altered on the drive fails its check rather than opening into garbage. Argon2id makes guessing a weak password expensive in both time and memory.
The drive keeps its file system and its full capacity. Your photos and reports move into a folder, not into new partition cut from the stick. A drive that arrives with files on it is never emptied first.
Setup writes out a recovery key. Keep it somewhere other than the stick itself, and it opens the data when the password is gone. Lose the password and the key together and the data is gone. We cannot open it for you either.
After protection the drive looks almost empty. One executable sits at the top level, and everything else lives inside a hidden system folder. Clear the hidden attribute and you see ciphertext, nothing readable.
Encryption lives in the files on the drive, not in the app that wrote them. Reinstall it, or set it up on a different PC, and the same password still opens the same stick.
The interface ships in 20 languages. The password prompt comes up in the user language.
Every guide points at BitLocker, and on Home that menu item is not there. Those threads answer with a link to some niche tool from a decade ago. On Home the only route is third-party software.
Contractors and students. Anyone who plugs a stick into machine owned by somebody else. You protect the drive at home, then open it in the office or a client meeting room.
A drive you lend or mail stops being a worry once it is encrypted. Whoever picks it up sees one executable and a password box.
